EQUESTRIAN SPONSORSHIP

Passion and dedication drive international success in equestrian sports

Alessia Nussbaumer (29) fondly recalls her first experiences in equestrian sports. Even as a child, she was always drawn to the ponies at a nearby farm in the neighboring village. It was there, accompanied by her mother, that her passion for horseback riding began. "We were truly hooked," Alessia says today with a smile. This passion has been a constant part of her life ever since, and it continues to be, both before and after her work as a teacher.

Alessia Nussbaumer, who has been fascinated by horses since childhood, has developed into a successful show jumper through passion and hard work. Her journey illustrates how DAY ONE supports her in achieving her goals.

“My top priority is keeping my horses healthy.”

For Alessia, equestrian sport is more than just a hobby: “It’s my great passion, giving me balance in everyday life and bringing me immense joy.” She describes the sport as an integral part of her life, providing her with both physical and mental strength. “I always strive to grow and learn new things. My top priority is to keep my horses healthy and provide them with the best possible care.”

Alessia's sporting successes speak for themselves. A major milestone was training her first horse, with which she competed in her first show and successfully jumped up to 135 cm. She also made her mark internationally, bringing home two victories from Italy. One of her most memorable achievements was qualifying for the prestigious Santeur Cantonale in Western Switzerland through the Cantonal Championships—a competition reserved for the canton’s top representatives.

“If the feeling is right, everything will work out.”

Preparation for competitions is crucial for Alessia. “It’s important that my horse is relaxed and ready for the upcoming challenge. At the same time, I need to be mentally prepared so that my head is clear. When everything feels right, everything will work out.” The day before a competition, she checks all of her horse's cues to ensure that “the buttons are working.” After the event, she allows her horse to recover outdoors, so it can recharge its energy.

DAY ONE’s support means a great deal to Alessia. “It’s my first sponsor outside of my family, and I’m a big fan of the brand.” The partnership gives her the opportunity to take her first step toward independence and self-sufficiency. Additionally, the sponsorship has provided her with a strong team that supports her with social media and other matters.

“Success means being happy with what you do.”

In the near future, Alessia hopes to complete the current season with two healthy horses. In the long term, she aims to advance to higher categories and continue developing her skills. One of her biggest dreams is to compete in the Swiss Championships in the “R” category. “It would be wonderful to be able to practice equestrian sport well into old age and to enjoy my horses every day.”
